Abstract
O envelhecimento humano acentuado é uma realidade global. Logo, a presente pesquisa exploratória-descritiva de abordagem mista quali-quantitativa, tem como objetivo analisar as percepções sobre as dimensões recomendadas pelo Guia Global Cidade Amiga do Idoso (OMS, 2008). Compreendendo assim, a percepção dos participantes quanto a realidade cotidiana do município de Pelotas-RS no que se relaciona às suas vivências enquanto pessoas com 60 anos ou mais. Teve como amostra 63 participantes com 60 anos ou mais, usuários de distintos serviços de saúde, de assistência social e convivência. Os instrumentos de coleta de dados foram um questionário estruturado adaptado do Protocolo de Vancouver (OMS, 2008) e a realização de grupos focais. A análise dos dados foi realizada por meio de programa estatístico para os dados quantitativos e a análise de conteúdo de Bardin nos qualitativos. Os resultados, reforçam a necessidade de políticas públicas e práticas que promovam ambientes inclusivos, serviços de saúde adequados, oportunidades de participação social, acesso à informação e oportunidades de emprego, alinhando-se às expectativas e particularidades desse segmento demográfico. Uma abordagem ampla e integrativa dessas questões é essencial para assegurar um envelhecimento saudável e satisfatório, contribuindo para a qualidade de vida dos idosos.
