Abstract
Bakgrund: Svensk eftervård har förändrats från långa BB-vistelser till kortare vårdtider. Dock har majoriteten av sjukhusen fortfarande dubbelrum, vilket ger varierande nöjdhet kopplad till miljö, sömn och partnerns delaktighet. Familjecentrerad vård framhålls som en central modell för att stärka anknytning och stödja hela familjen. Syfte: Att belysa kvinnors upplevelser av att dela rum med en annan nyförlöst på̊ BB-avdelningen. Metod: Den valda metoden var en kvalitativ intervjustudie med induktiv ansats. Tolv kvinnor som delat sal på BB intervjuades med hjälp av en semistrukturerad intervjuguide. Datan analyserades med hjälp av Lundman & Hällgren Graneheims innehållsanalys. Resultat: Upplevelserna av att dela rum på BB var övervägande negativa. Det övergripande temat, egen härd är guld värd, belyste kvinnors upplevelser av att dela rum med en annan nyförlöst. Sju kategorier identifierades utefter kvinnans upplevelser av att dela rum: att bli störd, rädd att störa, att vara utan sin partner, att förlora sin integritet, trivsamt med sällskap, svårt att kommunicera samt ouppfyllda förväntningar av eftervården. Konklusion: BB-vården bör utformas så att nyförlösta kvinnor kan ha sin partner närvarande för att kunna främja en familjecentrerad vård. Studien belyser att det finns ett behov av att undersöka fenomenet vidare för att kunna utveckla strukturella förändringar. Studiens resultat kan vara till hjälp för barnmorskan i mötet med kvinnorna, att se familjen som en helhet kan hjälpa barnmorskan att förstå kvinnornas behov bättre.
