Depuis plus de 50 ans, le conflit travail-vie personnelle (COTVP) et ses déterminants organisationnels suscitent un intérêt de la communauté scientifique. En ce sens, les recherches illustrent que les principaux antécédents du COTVP seraient liés aux conditions de travail, notamment l’horaire de travail et le nombre d’heures travaillées. Sans surprise, l’intention de quitter son emploi (IQE) apparait comme une résultante importante de ce conflit. Afin de contrer les effets négatifs du COTVP, le rôle de l’habilitation psychologique (HP) a été étudié dans la relation entre le COTVP et l’IQ. Toutefois, le lien entre ces variables a majoritairement été étudié en Asie, et ses résultats devraient se voir vérifiés auprès de travailleurs nord-américains. En s’appuyant sur le modèle Job Demands-Resources (JD-R), cette étude vise à examiner le rôle de l’HP sur la relation entre le COTVP et l’IQE dans le secteur de la santé, un milieu fortement affecté par les départs volontaires. Les 276 participants de l’étude ont été recrutés sur leur milieu de travail, au sein d’une organisation publique du secteur de la santé québécois. Les participants ont ensuite rempli des questionnaires validés, soit en ligne ou en format papier. Afin de tester le rôle de l’HP sur le COTVP et l’IQE, des analyses de modération ont été réalisées à partir du logiciel R. Des analyses exploratoires ont également été conduites de façon complémentaire afin de tester l’effet médiateur de l’HP dans la relation entre le COTVP et l’IQE. Les résultats de cette étude n’indiquent pas d’effet modérateur significatif, mais suggèrent un rôle médiateur partiel de l’HP. Ces observations laissent penser que l’HP pourrait contribuer à aménager l’impact du COTVP sur l’IQE. Ces conclusions offrent des pistes potentielles pour les organisations souhaitant soutenir la rétention du personnel et l’attractivité des postes.
