O presente estudo insere-se no âmbito do Mestrado em Didática do Português na Era Digital e tem como objetivo analisar o contributo do Escape Room Educativo para o desenvolvimento da compreensão leitora em alunos de 6.º ano do 2.º Ciclo do Ensino Básico, com base na obra Ulisses, de Maria Alberta Menéres. Partindo do reconhecimento de que a leitura é uma competência essencial para o sucesso escolar e pessoal, a investigação procurou responder ao desafio contemporâneo de promover práticas leitoras significativas num contexto marcado pela omnipresença do digital e pela necessidade de metodologias inovadoras e motivadoras. Por isso, a fundamentação teórica assenta em dois eixos interdependentes: a compreensão da leitura enquanto processo cognitivo, linguístico e social e o uso da gamificação como estratégia pedagógica facilitadora desse mesmo processo. Metodologicamente, a investigação seguiu uma abordagem mista, enquadrada num modelo de investigação-ação, tendo sido aplicados um pré-teste e um pós-teste de compreensão leitora antes da implementação do Escape Room Educativo. Para além disso, foram utilziadas grelhas de observação direta e questionários semiestruturados, de modo a recolher dados sobre a evolução das competências leitoras e as perceções dos alunos. Os resultados obtidos revelaram melhorias significativas nas competências de compreensão leitora, em especial nos níveis inferencial e reorganizativo, bem como um aumento expressivo da motivação e do envolvimento dos alunos. Os alunos demonstraram-se mais capazes de mobilizar estratégias de leitura, de interpretar inferências e de estabelecer relações entre ideias textuais, confirmando a importância de atividades gamificadas para o desenvolvimento da literacia. Conclui-se, assim, que o Escape Room Educativo representa uma metodologia motivadora e eficaz para o ensino da leitura, ao articular a ludicidade da gamificação com o uso intencional das tecnologias digitais, fomentando o prazer de ler, a autonomia, o pensamento crítico e a cooperação, bem como respondendo de forma concreta aos desafios da educação contemporânea.
