Abstract
El artículo examina la imagen de Andalucía construida en Quebec a través de textos literarios, referencias culturales y percepciones sociales difundidas en el ámbito francófono norteamericano. La autora analiza cómo ciertos estereotipos —el exotismo, el folclore, la sensualidad del sur, el flamenco o la figura del andaluz como símbolo de vitalidad— se han consolidado en el imaginario quebequés, y cómo estos elementos influyen en la recepción de la cultura andaluza fuera de España. El estudio muestra que esta visión no es homogénea: combina tópicos heredados del romanticismo europeo con interpretaciones contemporáneas que reinterpretan Andalucía desde claves identitarias propias de Quebec. Arregui examina también cómo estas representaciones condicionan la traducción y la difusión cultural, ya que el traductor debe decidir si reproduce, matiza o cuestiona los clichés presentes en los textos origen. El artículo aporta una reflexión crítica sobre la construcción cultural de la alteridad y sobre el papel de la traducción en la transmisión de imágenes regionales. Su contribución radica en mostrar cómo Andalucía, vista desde Quebec, se convierte en un espacio simbólico donde se proyectan deseos, expectativas y lecturas culturales que van más allá de la realidad histórica.
