Abstrak. Sejak ditetapkan menjadi cagar budaya peringkat nasional pada tahun 2019, Situs Gua Harimau mengalami fase stagnan dari segi pelestarian. Seolah tahap penetapan merupakan titik akhir, tindakan pelestarian yang sesungguhnya berupa pelindungan, pengembangan, dan pemanfaatan cagar budaya seperti yang diamanatkan dalam UU No. 11 tahun 2010 tidak cukup terlihat geliatnya. Persoalan mendasar pada tersendatnya pelestarian Situs Cagar Budaya Gua Harimau setelah penetapannya terletak pada tidak adanya perencanaan pelestarian yang komprehensif. Padahal perencanaan pelestarian ini yang menjadi panduan penting bagi stakeholder terkait untuk mengambil peran, berkontribusi, dan berbagi tanggung jawab dalam hal pelindungan, pengembangan, dan pemanfaatan secara kongkret. Pendistribusian hak dan tanggung jawab antara pemerintah pusat dan pemerintah daerah seharusnya menjadi bagian dari komitmen semua pihak untuk menjamin kelestarian Situs Cagar Budaya Gua Harimau yang berkelanjutan. Pada sisi lain, re-organisasi institusi kebudayaan di bawah Direktorat Jenderal Kebudayaan, Kementerian Pendidikan, Kebudayaan, Riset, dan Teknologi pada tahun 2023 menjadi angin segar bagi terwujudnya pelestarian cagar budaya nasional secara maksimal. UPT Balai Pelestarian Kebudayaan Wilayah VI dibentuk untuk melaksanakan fungsi pelindungan cagar budaya peringkat nasional di Sumatera Selatan. Sementara fungsi pelaksanaan pengembangan dan pemanfaatan cagar budaya nasional dilaksanakan oleh satuan kerja Museum Cagar Budaya. Keduanya menjadi ujung tombak pelestarian cagar budaya peringkat nasional di Indonesia. Kata Kunci: Gua Harimau, Pelestarian, Pengelolaan, Penetapan, Peringkat Cagar Budaya Abstract. After designated as a national-ranked cultural heritage in 2019, Gua Harimau was in a stagnant phase in conservation activities. The actual conservation action takes the form of protecting, developing and utilizing cultural heritage as mandated in Law no. 11/2010 does not show enough. The fundamental problem in the preserve action the Gua Harimau after its designation is in the absence of a comprehensive conservation plan. In fact, this conservation planning is an important guide for relevant stakeholders to take roles, contribute and share responsibility in protection, development and utilization. The distribution of responsibilities between the central government and regional governments should be part of the commitment of all parties to ensure the sustainable preservation of Gua Harimau. On the other hand, the re-organization of institutions under the Directorate General of Culture, Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology in 2023 will be a hope for the realization of maximum preservation of national cultural heritage. Cultural Preservation Office Regional VI was formed to carry out the function of protecting national-ranked cultural heritage in South Sumatra. Meanwhile, the function of implementing the development and utilization of national-ranked cultural heritage is carried out by the Indonesian Heritage Agency.
