Abstract
-- ABSTRACT : In Quebec, ethnocultural diversity is the result of a long process (Gaudet, 2020). This plurality requires appropriate integration policies, particularly in the field of education. The linguistic, educational, and social integration is a complex process, influenced both by linguistic, cultural, and historical diversity of populations. The collective memory of the Quebec society, official language and the sociocultural policies also have an influence on that process (Cadet et al., 2010; Yerochewski et al., 2022). On the other hand, failing to fully recognize the diversity contributes to make certain realities invisible and reinforce inequalities (Beaudoin, 2023). In this context, textbooks, as cultural and educational objects, play a central role in the transmission of knowledge and values, but may convey bias, omissions, or stereotypes (Verdelhan-Bourgade, 2007; Memaï and Rouag, 2017). In 2023, the Culture and Citizenship in Quebec (CCQ) program replaced the Ethics and Religious Culture program, with the aim of promoting Quebec culture and civic values. However, its ability to fairly represent ethnocultural diversity raises questions. The objective of this research is to describe and analyze the representation of ethnocultural diversity in Culture and Citizenship in Quebec (CCQ) textbooks for elementary school students, particularly those in grades 4 to 8 approved by the ministry of Education. The study is based on a qualitative thematic analysis of sections of textbooks which identified the main themes related to ethnocultural diversity. The research results reveal a marked centrality of Quebec culture, which is often the main reference around which the content is structured. Ethnocultural diversity, although present, remains unevenly represented and sometimes manifests itself in a sporadic form or in association with traditional aspects. However, the analysis also reveals several contemporary elements. The textbooks include characters from diverse cultural backgrounds, particularly in contexts of dialogue and intercultural exchange. In conclusion, although the Culture and Citizenship in Quebec (CCQ) program introduces elements aimed at promoting inclusion, the representation of ethnocultural diversity in textbooks remains partial. These findings call for a rethinking of the design of educational content in order to better reflect the plurality of Quebec society and promote a truly inclusive education. It also highlights the importance for teachers of not limiting themselves solely to the content of textbooks, but to supplement them with other resources and approaches in order to offer a more representative and open-minded education that embraces diversity. -- Mot(s) clé(s) en anglais : textbook, school curriculum, ethnocultural diversity, intercultural education, Quebec Culture and Citizenship (QCC) program, primary school, Quebec.

Teacher imitationNot calibrated prevalence, not ground truth. Human validation pending. The Gemma side is a direct model label for every work in the frame, read from the title-only record. The Codex side is a classifier learned from the 10,348 direct Codex labels and calibrated to design-weighted sample rates; fields without enough sample support carry no Codex call. Candidate is the union of the two sides; consensus is their intersection. These outputs are machine_predicted_unvalidated and are not human labels.

Machine scores (provisional)
The two teacher heads of the student model, read on this work. A score orders the frame for review; it never asserts a category, and the validation status ships verbatim with every row.
Baseline scores from an immature model (maturity gate not passed, 7 training rounds). Scores rank; they never assert a category.
