Abstract
Relevance of topic. In Lithuania there is about 6000 people with visual impairment, but only 2% of them are physically active. One of the most popular sports among the people with visual disorder is goalball. Physical activity and special training can help people with visual disorder to avoid a lot of proeblems, for example: overweight, bad posture or improve their self confidence. Thesis object – physiotherapy impact on professional and non-professional goalball players. Thesis goal – yo evaluate the impact of physiotherapy on professional and non-professional goalball players. The first part of the thesis introduces the visual pecularities, physical education features (methodology) and its impact on the education of blind and visually impaired, goalball history, game conception and features. The second part of the thesis describes the characteristics of the research, the methods and the obtaining contingent. The third part analyzes and presents the results of research. During examination in order to evaluate the impact of physiotherapy on professional and non-professional goalball players, there was performed a research in VŠĮ LASUC. Test subjects took McGill test to meassure static trunk muscle endurance, Lovett test - upper limb strenght, geniometry range of motion of upper extremity, dinanometry - hand muscles static strenght, long jump - explosive leg muscles stenght, 20 squat test - cardiovascular reaction to physical stress. Tests were applied 2 times, the re-evaluation was carried out after 4 weeks. Tests results showed a positive effect of physiotherapy among the non-professional players, results improved in all areas. Among professional players there was very prominent improvement in cardiovascular response to physical stress and in upper extremities muscle strength, but range of motion of upper extremities decreased. Importance of this thesis results and application possibilities determines that according to the test, people with visual disorder must train trunk muscles endurance and upper extremities to improve and maintain range of motion. Recommendations will be included in athletes training cycle.
