Abstract
Theme relevance. A tendency of the increasing number of children with impaired posture and decreasing age-span has been noticed with every coming year, and this is the main concern of health care institutions. More attention is being paid to the children‘s impaired posture. Kinesitherapy is one of the essential rehab ways and means to atjust the impaired posture. Object of the research: physioherapy impact on the children aged 9-10. Aim of the research: impact assessment of physioherapy on the impaired posture of children aged 9-10. The first part of the study introduces the description of spinal anatomy and biomechanics, impaired post\ure and its prevalence, etiology and classification, as well as physiotherapy in adjusting children‘s impaired posture. In the second part of the study there is the description of the characteristics, applied methods and children engaged in the investigation. In the third part the study reveals the investigation and its results. During the study, an investigation at PI Ukmergės Hospital Rehab section was carried out to assess the impact of physiositherapy on the children‘s aged 9-10 impaired posture. For this purpose, W. K. Hoger‘s method, McGill‘s waist static force stamina test and balance assessment, i.e. standing on one leg with one‘s eyes closed, test were applied. 22 patients having the impaired posture problem participated in the study . The ones engaged in the investigation were assessed twice – at the start and after 35 procedures of physiositherapy. Study results showed the improvement of 9-10 year-old children‘s impaired posture after physiotherapy seances, better indicators of waist static force stamina and balance. Practical significance of the study results and their adaptation provide a possibility to treat children with the impaired posture problem in Rehab sections and centres using physioherapy at its best. Study results will be used in the future work of health care specialists.
