Ovaj završni rad istražuje pojam roditeljske samopercepcije ili samopoimanja i njegovu ključnu ulogu u oblikovanju kvalitete odnosa roditelja i djeteta. Temelji se na psihološkoj definiciji samopoimanja kao subjektivne slike o sebi te analizira kako različiti stilovi roditeljstva (autoritativni, autoritarni, permisivni i zanemarujući) utječu na roditeljske percepcije vlastite kompetentnosti. Rad se oslanja na razvojne teorije Erika Eriksona, Alberta Bandure i Johna Bowlbyja kako bi se objasnili mehanizmi kroz koje roditeljsko samopoimanje utječe na emocionalni, socijalni i kognitivni razvoj djeteta. Poseban naglasak stavlja se na važnost pozitivnog roditeljskog samopoimanja za izgradnju zdravog, sigurnog i poticajnog obiteljskog okruženja. U radu se naglašava da roditeljstvo oblikuje ne samo dijete, već i roditelja te se poziva na nužnost društvene podrške i edukacije u jačanju roditeljskih kompetencija.
