Cilj istraživanja bio je ispitati odnos aleksitimije, neuroticizma i procijenjene težine simptoma kod oboljelih od psorijaze. U istraživanju je sudjelovalo 109 osoba s dijagnosticiranom psorijazom vulgaris. Za ispitivanje aleksitimije korištena je Torontska ljestvica aleksitimije (Toronto Alexithymia Scale, TAS-26, Taylor i sur., 1985; prema Kocijan Lovko, Gelo, Karlović, 2015). Neuroticizam je ispitan Skalom neuroticizma iz Inventara velikih pet dimenzija ličnosti (John i Srivastava, 1999), a težina bolesti je utvrđena Indeksom zahvaćenosti kože psorijazom i težine psorijaze (Fredriksson i Pettersson, 1978). Podaci su obrađeni analizama varijance i hijerarhijskom regresijskom analizom. Kod ispitivanja izravnog doprinosa crta ličnosti zastupljenosti simptoma psorijaze utvrđeno je kako obje crte ličnosti; i visoka aleksitimija i visoki neuroticizam izravno doprinose visokoj zastupljenosti simptoma psorijaze. Varijabla neuroticizam pokazala se kao bolji prediktor kriterija. Pri ispitivanju razlika u zastupljenosti kliničkih simptoma psorijaze s obzirom na interakciju crta ličnosti i spola dobiven je statistički značajan efekt interakcije između spola i aleksitimije. Žene s visokom aleksitimijom imaju najizraženije simptome psorijaze u odnosu na bilo koje druge skupine sudionika. S druge strane, efekt interakcije između neuroticizma i spolanije se pokazao značajnim po pitanju zastupljenosti simptoma ove bolesti.
