Abstract
Kroz različite novovjekovne opise krajolika Narone ovim se radom istražuju razlike i sličnosti u percepciji čime se ima za cilj stvoriti narativna slika krajolika jedne rimske kolonije. Analiza prati antičke i srednjovjekovne pisce, međutim naglasak je na glasovitim novovjekovnim putopiscima i istraživačima poput Alberta Fortisa, Francesca Lanze, Johna Gardnera Wilkinsona, Arthura J. Evansa, Mihovila Glavinića i Giuseppea Modricha. Istraživanje je oslikalo jedan močvarni, riječni krajolik, sklon poplavama i bolestima. Česti su opisi kanjona rijeke Neretve i kontrasta između nizine i uzvisine. Ističu se narativne slike izgubljenog krajolika uslijed melioracije i širenja gradova, a koje do danas ostaju u usmenoj predaji. Poseban naglasak stavljen je na opise samog sela Vid i arheoloških ostataka antičke Narone koji su se nalazili raštrkani u poljima ili ugrađeni u kuće, osobito župnu kuću koju je izgradio don Bariša Ereš. Usporedba ovih izvora pokazuje jasne promjene u krajoliku, osobito od 18. i 19. stoljeća do danas. Njihova analiza doprinosi razumijevanju povijesti Narone, ali i razumijevanju šireg procesa oblikovanja krajolika Dalmacije.
