Abstract
Na temelju podataka dobivenih Popisima stanovništva 1991., 2001. i 2011. godine analiziran je prostorni razmještaj, gustoća naseljenosti i ukupno kretanje stanovništva, ali i sastav stanovništva prema dobi i spolu te društveno-gospodarskim obilježjima na prostoru zapadnog dijela Krapinsko-zagorske županije. Na kraju je napravljena analiza demografskih resursa i potencijala koja nam daje potpuni uvid u sadašnje stanje, kao i buduće potencijale ovog prostora. Za potrebe analize popisnih podataka i njihovog kartografskog predočavanja korišten je softver ArcGIS. Prema dobivenim rezultatima svi relevantni pokazatelji upućuju na negativna demografska kretanja zapadnog dijela Krapinsko-zagorske županije. Narušeni dobni sastav stanovništva, negativna prirodna promjena i loša obrazovna struktura stanovništva ukazuju da je socioekonomski napredak istraživanog prostora veoma neizvjesan.
