Abstract
在高科技行业，中国企业能成长为器件领域龙头的机会很少。本案例描述了世界最大的液晶面板企业京东方从零开始，发展到LCD面板市占率第一的历程，以及未来方向的选择。京东方诞生于20世纪60年代，曾是亚洲最大的电子管制造厂，后来由于技术逐渐落后，倒退为一家巨亏的企业。在改制完成后，依靠合资企业和上市融资产生的现金流，公司管理层决定进入液晶面板行业。当时，液晶技术经过一段时间的发展，开始在某些应用领域替代传统的CRT技术。 京东方通过并购韩国现代集团下属的HYDIS，获得了液晶面板的生产设施、技术和经验丰富的员工。以此为基础，京东方开始在国内自主建设液晶面板产线，并抓住行业提供的机会窗口，积极投资高世代产线，扩大产能，逐渐超过了日本、韩国和中国台湾地区的同行。2019年京东方的液晶面板出货量全球第一，在笔记本电脑、PC显示器和平板电视领域均居首位。与此同时，作为壮大起来的器件企业，京东方不可避免受到下游客户策略性的压力，阻止其“一家独大”，增长因而受限。 京东方崛起的原因是什么？在成为一个器件领域龙头之后，公司下一步该往哪个方向发展？会面临哪些阻碍？本案例主要围绕这些问题展开。
