ntroducción: La Atención Primaria en Salud ha ido evolucionando en su concepción e implementación y ha tenido cambios según la política de salud vigente en cada país. La evidencia señala que las experiencias en Colombia carecen de una completa comprensión y por lo tanto débil implementación de los lineamientos establecidos para su puesta en marcha. Objetivo: Describir la implementación de la estrategia de Atención Primaria en Salud en 9 Municipios de Antioquia, 2016. Metodología: Estudio con enfoque Hermenéutico interpretativo, de caso, de tipo exploratorio donde se abordaron los lineamientos establecidos para la implementación de la APS en Antioquia por entornos y la propuesta de estrategias para su fortalecimiento. Resultados: En los nueve municipios seleccionados, uno por subregión, se evidencia la implementación de la APS bajo los lineamientos establecidos por el Departamento de Antioquia. Aun así, aspectos relacionados con el fortalecimiento de acciones intersectoriales, la participación social y comunitaria yla reorientación de los servicios, son necesarios para una mayor incidencia en la salud de la población.
