Le capital psychologique (CapPsy) est une caractéristique des ressources psychologiques personnelles, qui s'expriment plus particulièrement dans un contexte de travail et qui permettent notamment d'atteindre les objectifs de performance que l'on s'est fixés. Le CapPsy est envisagé comme un véritable avantage compétitif qu'il est bon de repérer et de développer (Luthans, Luthans & Luthans, 2004 ; Luthans, Youssef & Avolio, 2007 ; 2015). De fait, une méta-analyse regroupant 51 échantillons indépendants concernant plus de 12000 participants a montré que le CapPsy est positivement associé à la performance de tâche (objective, auto-rapportée et hétéro-rapportée), à la performance de contexte, et négativement associée aux comportements contre-productifs (Avey, Reichard, Luthans & Mhatre, 2011). Cette méta-analyse atteste également d'une relation positive entre avec la satisfaction en emploi, l'engagement et le bien-être, ainsi que d'une relation négative avec le stress, le cynisme, l'anxiété et l'intention de quitter son emploi. Cela en fait l'une des variables phare de la psychologie organisationnelle positive (Vallérand et Ménard, 2013). L'échelle la plus largement utilisée pour mesurer le CapPsy est le Questionnaire du Capital Psychologique en 24 items (PCQ-24 ; Luthans, Avolio, Avey & Norman, 2007 ; Luthans, Youssef & Avolio, 2007). Il n'en existe encore aucune version validée en français. Le CapPsy est peu présent dans la littérature francophone. Nous pensons que le manque d'une traduction validée en français de la PCQ-24 est à l'origine de ce manque. Nous appuyant sur deux traductions inversées parallèles puis mises en commun en comité (Vallérand 1989), nous avons produit notre traduction en français de la PCQ-24 et nous en avons étudié les qualités psychométriques sur 3 échantillons indépendants à l'occasion de 3 études distinctes sur des travailleurs tout-venant bilingues, des facteurs et des travailleurs (principalement ouvriers et cadres) du secteur industriel. Les résultats montrent que la traduction mesure bien le même concept que la PCQ-24 originale (rBP = .78, p < .001), qu'elle a une bonne validité de construit (entre autres .919 < α de Cronbach < .940) ainsi qu'une bonne convergence avec la performance de tâche (.375 < rBP < .591 ; p < .001), la performance de contexte (.571 < rBP < .662 ; p < .001), le bien-être psychologique au travail (.71 < rBP < .788 ; p < .001) et la détresse psychologique au travail ( -.538 > rBP > -.6 ; p < .001).
