Trampling on the statues': iconoclash, blasphemy and other transgressionsOn 22 September 2023, Harrit Tom, an 81-year-old lady, got on a train in her hometown Enschede, a city in the East of the Netherlands. She travelled for two-and-a-half hours to Maarssen, a place in the province of Utrecht in the middle of the country. There, she bought a ticket for the exhibition 'Exodus', organized by the Biblical Museum. She immediately found what she was looking for: the artwork 'Asherah's Return', by artist Marieke Ploeg.Consisting of a column of 3,000 miniature statues of Asherah, an ancient Canaanite goddess, this artwork wants to make visible the disappearance of female god-imagery in the Hebrew Bible.Harrit Tom then did something that shocked the visitors and personnel present at the site and, when it became public, stirred much debate. She describes her act as follows:I trampled on the statues. It was awkward to walk on them, I had to hold on to the wall.I did not shout anything, nor did I wave my arms. Some visitors thought it was a performance, until they got frightened and raised the alarm. The lady behind the counter, who had sold me my ticket, came running to me.'What are you doing? What are you doing?' I had not decided beforehand what I was going to say.'There is only one God, and that is Jahweh', I said, quietly.Without raising my voice, just like I am speaking now.(quoted in van Noppen 2023)Tom was able to ruin about one-third of the statues before she was stopped. At her own suggestion, the police were called. She then spent two hours at the police station before being released. She hopes that there will be a court case: 'Because I want to wake people up.There are many things that we do that are hurtful to God, but we just tolerate them' (van Noppen 2023).She specifies what made this artwork so intolerable: the existence of a female

Not calibrated prevalence, not ground truth. Human validation pending. Learned from the 10,348 direct Codex labels and 10,348 direct Gemma labels. Candidate is the union of thresholded teacher heads; consensus is their intersection. These outputs are machine_predicted_unvalidated and are not human labels or direct frontier model labels.

Machine scores (provisional)

The two teacher heads of the student model, read on this work. A score orders the frame for review; it never asserts a category, and the validation status ships verbatim with every row.

Baseline scores from an immature model (maturity gate not passed, 7 training rounds). Scores rank; they never assert a category.
