Dieser Policy Brief beschäftigt sich mit klimafreundlichen und gesundheitsfördernden Aspekten von Zeitwohlstand. Dabei fasst er einerseits wissenschaftliche Literatur zu Zeit, Gesundheit und Klima zusammen und ergänzt den Forschungsstand um eine qualitative Erhebung in Österreich, die zwei Fokusgruppen und sechs Expert:inneninterviews umfasst. Der Policy Brief konzentriert sich auf Zeit als ein Thema, welches implizit immer mitschwingt, jedoch nur selten als Querschnittsthema in Politikfeldern wie Umwelt-, Gesundheits-, Sozial- oder Arbeitspolitik in den Blick genommen wird. Zeitwohlstand ist in den Wirtschafts- und Sozialwissenschaften ein zunehmend populäres Konzept, welches ausreichend freie Zeit (oft auch als Freizeit bezeichnet), ein angemessenes Tempo, sichere Planbarkeit, eine weitgehend reibungslose Synchronisierung unterschiedlicher Zeitbedarfe und hinreichend selbstbestimmte Zeit ins Zentrum stellt. Während ökologische Debatten grundlegend für die Konzeptionierung von Zeitwohlstand waren, gilt es, den Zeitwohlstandsbegriff im Bereich der Gesundheitspolitik erst zu etablieren.
