Abstract
The number of funeral businesses nationwide was 553 in 2000, but increased to 2,506 in 2020, up to five times in 20 years, but the number of employees has only increased 2.5 times, and since 2011 it has been a full-time employee. The number of funeral businesses in Fukuoka City increased from 51 in 1999 and 937 employees (682 full-time employees, 255 non-regular employees) to 70 in the 2000s, and 103 in 2012.
