L’essor de la traduction automatique a profondément transformé le secteur de la traduction professionnelle. En confiant aux logiciels la production d’une première traduction de plus en plus convaincante, les spécialistes peuvent désormais se concentrer sur les aspects les plus complexes du texte, notamment les dimensions lexicale et terminologique. Dans le cadre du projet Lingua-Q : IA et post-édition dans la traduction spécialisée plurilingue , l’équipe de l’Osservatorio di Terminologie e Politiche Linguistiche – OTPL (Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore, Milan) analyse la qualité de la traduction automatique dans une perspective didactique, en vue de proposer une formation à la post-édition destinée aux étudiant·es de sciences linguistiques et de langues, littératures et cultures étrangères. Cette étude se compose de trois sections principales. Tout d’abord, l’analyse des résultats d’un questionnaire soumis à un groupe d’étudiant·es de master sur leurs attentes et besoins de formation en traduction et post-édition. Ensuite, la constitution d’un corpus de textes en français dans le domaine de la finance durable et éthique traduit à l’aide d’un logiciel de traduction automatique, dont l’évaluation de la qualité a servi à la préparation du matériel didactique. Enfin, la mise en oeuvre d’une séquence didactique pour la promotion d’un emploi responsable des outils de traduction automatique. Les résultats de cette expérimentation mettent en évidence l’importance d’une formation spécifique à la post-édition, désormais considérée comme une compétence essentielle pour les spécialistes de langues.
