Abstract

Pendidikan dasar memiliki peran penting dalam membentuk karakter dan kemampuan intelektual siswa sejak dini. Meskipun demikian, masih banyak sekolah dasar yang menghadapi kendala dalam menciptakan suasana pembelajaran yang edukatif dan menyenangkan. Salah satunya adalah SDN 015 Balikpapan yang berlokasi di Karang Joang, dimana sekolah tersebut memiliki potensi besar dalam pengembangan lingkungan belajar, namun pemanfaatannya hingga belum optimal. Permasalahan utama yang dihadapi adalah penataan lingkungan sekolah yang kurang menarik serta minimnya media informasi edukatif yang mendukung proses pembelajaran, khususnya yang berbasis lingkungan. Untuk menjawab permasalahan tersebut, diusulkan pengembangan taman edukasi yang dilengkapi dengan papan informasi tanaman sebagai media pembelajaran interaktif. Metode pelaksanaan meliputi observasi lapangan, identifikasi kebutuhan, perancangan taman, pembuatan papan informasi, serta sosialisasi kepada warga sekolah. Hasil dari program ini menunjukkan peningkatan minat siswa terhadap pembelajaran berbasis lingkungan dan adanya peluang peningkatan kemampuan bahasa Inggris melalui media bilingual pada papan informasi. Kebaruan dari program ini terletak pada integrasi pembelajaran lingkungan dengan peningkatan literasi bahasa asing dalam bentuk taman edukasi tematik. Inovasi ini diharapkan dapat meningkatkan kualitas pendidikan dan membentuk budaya belajar yang lebih aktif dan menyenangkan.
