Abstract

fetched live from OpenAlex

The Corona crisis that began in 2020 became a pronounced mental health crisis for students worldwide. In response to the growing need for student counseling at Teikyo Heisei University, the Student Counseling Office was established under the University Health Administration Organization in November 2022, and a system to provide student counseling as an organization was put in place. The unique feature of this system is that the Student Support Team, Health Office, Student Counseling Office, and school physician work together to support students, sharing information with faculty members of the undergraduate departments as necessary. This report describes the process of organizational development, the features of the management system, and the results of counseling activities in FY2022, and discusses the current status and future issues of the university's student counseling system. Both the number of intakes and the total number of interviews in 2022 increased significantly compared to the previous year, and it is thought that the opening of the Student Counseling Room at the Nakano Campus made it easier for students to use the counseling services. Furthermore, in the "Survey of Academic Behavior and Outcomes" conducted in 2022, 7.5% of students answered that they had "a lot" of anxiety and worries about their mental health, suggesting that a significant number of students have the potential to use student counseling services. However, the number of student counseling counselors at the university is only about a quarter of the number recommended in the guidelines for student counseling agencies by the Japan Student Counseling Association, suggesting the need for continued efforts to make effective use of resources to support students.

Not calibrated prevalence, not ground truth. Human validation pending. The Gemma side is a direct model label for every work in the frame, read from the title-only record. The Codex side is a classifier learned from the 10,348 direct Codex labels and calibrated to design-weighted sample rates; fields without enough sample support carry no Codex call. Candidate is the union of the two sides; consensus is their intersection. These outputs are machine_predicted_unvalidated and are not human labels.

Machine scores (provisional)

The two teacher heads of the student model, read on this work. A score orders the frame for review; it never asserts a category, and the validation status ships verbatim with every row.

Baseline scores from an immature model (maturity gate not passed, 7 training rounds). Scores rank; they never assert a category.
