Autrice de onze romans, France Daigle obtient la consécration lorsque qu'elle remporte le Prix du Gouverneur général du Canada en 2012 pour son roman Pour sûr . Ce roman conclut une tétralogie amorcée en 1998 avec la parution de Pas pire . Dans cette suite, on suit les péripéties de Terry et Carmen, deux Acadiens qui évoluent à Moncton au Nouveau-Brunswick. Chez Daigle, le cadre spatial demeure souvent l'élément le plus structurant du récit. Or, le roman Un fin passage , deuxième de la tétralogie, repose moins sur l'espace, mais plutôt sur le passage du temps comme en fait foi la division des chapitres par journée non chronologique. En fait, le titre énigmatique suggère de grandes ramifications dans la fiction entre autres parce qu'un des personnages, qui s'est suicidé, est passé du monde des vivants au monde des morts. L'objectif de cet article est double. D'une part, il s'agit de brièvement faire connaître la littérature acadienne et plus particulièrement l'?uvre de France Daigle à un public non-initié. D'autre part, il s'agit de montrer de quels passages est-il question dans ce roman choral, mais sans chanteur. Outre le suicidé dont l'état est irrémédiable, les personnages semblent se situer à un moment charnière de leur vie. À partir de l'essai Lire le temps (1989) de Michel Picard et des préconstruits de la lecture de Gilles Thérien (1990), il sera possible de montrer que, pour une rare fois chez France Daigle, le temps, aussi fragmenté soit-il, possède un ascendant sur l'espace.
