La violence de masse engendre des catastrophes psychiques d’origine sociale ; en raison de la sidération et de l’effroi traumatique, les processus de symbolisation dont disposent les survivants sont débordés. Cet article explore les répercussions psychiques d’une telle violence extrême et les modalités de transmission au fil des générations. L’autrice questionne la pertinence du modèle de la psychanalyse groupale pour penser la complexité des processus en jeu : quel est l’apport des travaux de Kaës, Rouchy ou Granjon par exemple pour penser la mise à mal des processus psychiques en jeu dans les groupes hantés par les secrets associés à un héritage traumatique ou un deuil resté inélaboré ? Elle montre l’utilité de distinguer la transmission inter générationnelle de la transmission trans générationnelle, laquelle se conjugue au négatif. En s’appuyant sur une brève vignette clinique, elle pointe comment les ricochets d’un secret se répercutent au sein d’une famille. Enfin, l’article met en évidence l’intérêt des dispositifs thérapeutiques à médiation pour favoriser le travail de liaison.
