METIS: recalibrando la medición generacional para el contexto histórico y social de Colombia

Abstract
Este proyecto propone un nuevo modelo generacional para Colombia, basado en eventos históricos nacionales y diseñado para corregir las distorsiones causadas por la aplicación de marcos demográficos globales, en particular los desarrollados en Estados Unidos. Mediante encuestas, entrevistas a expertos, análisis documental y revisión de datos históricos, se validó la hipótesis de que las etiquetas generacionales importadas no reflejan con precisión las realidades sociales, económicas y políticas de Colombia. Como solución, se desarrolló un marco preliminar que identifica 32 cohortes generacionales organizadas en ciclos históricos de 87 años. Este modelo se pondrá a prueba en instituciones académicas y posteriormente se adaptará a una plataforma digital para su uso en universidades, agencias públicas y empresas de investigación. El estudio muestra que las generaciones nacidas en periodos clave, como 1976-1997 y 1998-2019, presentan trayectorias socioeconómicas distintas, lo que confirma la necesidad de un sistema de segmentación adaptado al contexto colombiano. Los resultados sugieren que la implementación de este modelo podría mejorar significativamente la precisión de la planificación de políticas públicas, la investigación social y la segmentación de consumidores, proporcionando a las instituciones una herramienta para anticipar riesgos, diseñar programas específicos y evaluar los impactos intergeneracionales con mayor exactitud.
