Abstract
Penyesuaian diri mahasiswa perantau pada dasarnya dipengaruhi oleh culture shock, hal ini disebabkan oleh adanya perbedaan yang signifikan dari lingkungan sebelumnya dan lingkungan baru. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh culture shock terhadap penyesuaian diri mahasiswa perantau di Kota Makassar. Responden dalam penelitian ini berjumlah 400 responden (laki-laki: 130 dan perempuan: 270) dengan rentan usia 18-25 tahun. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif. Instrumen yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah skala culture shock yang dikembangkan oleh Pertiwi (2020) dan skala penyesuaian diri yang dikembangkan oleh Fahmisyas (2021) yang telah dimodifikasi kembali oleh peneliti. Analisis yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah CFA untuk menguji validitas konstrak pada masing-masing instrumen dan uji hipotesis menggunakan regresi linear sederhana. Hasil CFA menunjukkan bahwa diperoleh model yang fitt pada skala penyesuaian diri dan skala culture shock, dan hasil hipotesis menunjukkan bahwa culture shock berpengaruh secara signifikan terhadap penyesuaian diri dengan kontribusi 26.9%. Adapun arah pengaruhnya yaitu arah negatif, artinya semakin tinggi culture shock yang dirasakan maka semakin rendah tingkat penyesuaian diri mahasiswa perantau di kota makassar, begitupun sebaliknya.
