Sequence Stratigraphy and Seismic Geomorphology of the Jeanne d’Arc Basin, Eastern Newfoundland: A Chronostratigraphic Update
Bibliographic record
Abstract
Summary The Jeanne d’Arc Basin is a rift basin formed as a response of complex rifting history related to north Atlantic opening. We propose a sequence stratigraphic analysis of the whole basin with a source-to-sink approach of the depositional systems of each main reservoir formation. Through this study, we highlight the genetic link between the tectonic phases (syn-rift and post-rift) and the associated depositional features, hence leading to the derisking of reservoir presence and efficiency through object-based depositional environment mapping. The careful analysis of seismic geometries coupled with well stacking pattern allowed a stratigraphic breakdown of 13 megasequences. The timelines bounding each megasequence were picked on 3D seismic cubes in order to emphasize the spatial partitioning of each megasequence depocenter. The resulting thickness maps and seismic attribute map extractions reflect the spatial distribution of the main play elements and associated geobodies. We focused our attention on the forced regressive system tract of the main plays. The attribute extraction within those intervals also revealed the shape and extension of sedimentary fairways such as (1) Gilbert deltas and alluvial to shallow marine fans for the syn-rift intervals, and (2) lowstand deltaic wedges and correlative turbiditic channel systems for the post rift intervals.

Teacher imitationNot calibrated prevalence, not ground truth. Human validation pending. The Gemma side is a direct model label for every work in the frame, read from the title-only record. The Codex side is a classifier learned from the 10,348 direct Codex labels and calibrated to design-weighted sample rates; fields without enough sample support carry no Codex call. Candidate is the union of the two sides; consensus is their intersection. These outputs are machine_predicted_unvalidated and are not human labels.

Machine scores (provisional)
The two teacher heads of the student model, read on this work. A score orders the frame for review; it never asserts a category, and the validation status ships verbatim with every row.
Baseline scores from an immature model (maturity gate not passed, 7 training rounds). Scores rank; they never assert a category.
score_only:v0-immature-baseline · verbatim from the scoring run: score_only means the number may rank works, and no category label ships from itClassification
machine, unvalidatedMachine predicted; a candidate call from one source (direct Gemma or distilled Codex), not a consensus.
