Chemostratigraphy of the Lower Cretaceous (Barremian - Albian) Panuke B-90 Drill Core Sedimentary Rocks from the Scotian Shelf, Nova Scotia
Bibliographic record
Abstract
Summary The Scotian Shelf in Atlantic Canada represents a Mesozoic to Cenozoic passive margin comprising carbonates and siliciclastic deposits, with the abandoned Panuke oil and gas field illustrating active petroleum systems. This field sits above a lower Cretaceous deltaic succession, characterized by alternating fine-grained marine units, which serve as both source rocks and seals, including the Naskapi Member of the Logan Canyon Formation. The Early Aptian Ocean Anoxic Event (OAE1a) within the Naskapi Member provides insights into organic production and preservation during this significant global event. The complex stratigraphic successions arise from short-term sea-level fluctuations, affecting sediment production and organic matter preservation across various depositional environments. We hypothesize that the molecular organic matter matrix varies with the depositional environment and its relationship to base-level sequence stratigraphy. However, traditional proxies often miss high-resolution changes in deltaic margins. To address this, we are employing multi-proxy geochemical data to better understand these variations across five parasequences within the Mississauga Formation and Naskapi Member intersected by the Panuke B-90 well.

Full frame machine prediction
Teacher imitationNot calibrated prevalence, not ground truth. Human validation pending. The Gemma side is a direct model label for every work in the frame, read from the title-only record. The Codex side is a classifier learned from the 10,348 direct Codex labels and calibrated to design-weighted sample rates; fields without enough sample support carry no Codex call. Candidate is the union of the two sides; consensus is their intersection. These outputs are machine_predicted_unvalidated and are not human labels.

Machine scores (provisional)
The two teacher heads of the student model, read on this work. A score orders the frame for review; it never asserts a category, and the validation status ships verbatim with every row.
Baseline scores from an immature model (maturity gate not passed, 7 training rounds). Scores rank; they never assert a category.
score_only:v0-immature-baseline · verbatim from the scoring run: score_only means the number may rank works, and no category label ships from itClassification
machine, unvalidatedMachine predicted; a candidate call from one source (direct Gemma or distilled Codex), not a consensus.
