Prevalência de fungos causadores de onicomicose na população comunitária do Distrito Federal

Abstract
Introdução: A onicomicose é uma infecção fúngica que acomete as unhas, causada por fungos dermatófitos, não dermatófitos e leveduras, sendo a doença ungueal mais comum na prática clínica, estando relacionada a vários fatores de risco da população. Objetivo: Demonstrar a prevalência de fungos como agentes etiológicos da onicomicose na população do Distrito Federal, tendo em vista a alta incidência no país e a ausência de estudos locais. Método: Realizou-se um estudo retrospectivo entre janeiro de 2020 e dezembro de 2024, no qual foram avaliados os resultados de 4.047 culturas positivas de amostras clínicas de sítio ungueal, analisadas em um laboratório privado. Conclusão: A prevalência de agentes etiológicos no presente estudo foi de leveduras (63,05%), seguida por dermatófitos (26,53%) e por não dermatófitos (10,42%). As espécies mais prevalentes foram: Candida parapsilosis (30,69%), Trichophyton rubrum (23,33%), Rhodotorula mucilaginosa (9,83%), Fusarium (7,81%), Candida albicans (7,12%), Candida tropicalis (6,08%), Candida spp. (5,63%), Trichosporon spp. (3,58%), Trichophyton mentagrophytes (3,01%), Scytalidium dimidiatum (1,73%) e outras espécies (10,42%). No presente estudo, destacaram-se Candida parapsilosis e Trichophyton rubrum como principais agentes etiológicos isolados nas infecções ungueais na comunidade do Distrito Federal, com predomínio de indivíduos do sexo feminino (61,72%) e faixa etária acima de 50 anos (59,89%). O diagnóstico etiológico é um fator importante para uma abordagem terapêutica mais assertiva das onicomicoses. O aprimoramento das técnicas de identificação laboratorial, como o MALDI-TOF (matrix-assisted laser desorption ionization – time of flight), auxilia na acurácia destes resultados, trazendo mais segurança tanto para o diagnóstico quanto para o tratamento.
