Abstract
Jacques Godechot avait en son temps justifié la thèse de la « Révolution atlantique » par les migrations multiples que suscitent les bouleversements politiques et par la circulation des idées qui devait en résulter.R.Z. adopte une autre perspective, interne à l'histoire de la Monarchie des Habsbourg, qui trouve son origine dans un projet sur les mobilités à l'intérieur de l'espace dominé par les Habsbourg.Spécialiste reconnue de l'administration autrichienne dans les Pays-Bas, l'auteur centre son étude sur les migrations des élites administratives belges, d'abord sous la domination des Habsbourg de 1714 à 1794, puis après le changement de régime, très avant dans le XIXe s.À partir de dépouillements importants menés dans les dépôts autrichiens, belges et bohêmes, auxquels s'ajoute une enquête sur les étapes allemandes des migrants, essentiellement à Cologne, Erfurt, Francfort, Hildesheim et Wurzbourg, l'auteur reconstruit avec soin des parcours singuliers de Bruxelles à Vienne.
