Abstract
The Animal Welfare Committee (AWC) met on 2 occasions in the year 2001: in the__ spring, as part of Committee Weekend, in Toronto, Ontario, and, in the fall, at the Faculte de medecine veterinaire (FMV) in Saint-Hyacinthe, Quebec. This year saw the retirement of 3 committee members and one ex-officio member. Dr. Alice Crook, chair for the last 3 years, is stepping down after 7 years on the Committee. Dr. Keith Campbell, council liaison for the AWC, stepped down after the fall meeting, as he is now a member of the CVMA Executive. Dr. Toni Bayans, a member of the Committee for 6 years, also stepped down after the fall meeting. Dr. Isabel Hetram, Ontario Veterinary Medical Association (OVMA) liaison, stepped down from the Committee during the summer. The CVMA thanks these individuals for their contributions to their profession and for all their hard work and dedication to the Committee and to animal welfare. To replace Dr. Hetram, Dr. Ken Easton has been chosen to be the new OVMA representative. He attended his first meeting in Saint-Hyacinthe. Also in attendance was the incoming chairperson for the Committee, Dr. Denna Benn, and the chairperson of the AWC of the American Veterinary Medical Association, Dr. Sally Walshaw. For the year 2001, the focus was on 3 priorities: animal abuse, humane transportation, and the seal hunt, but the Committee also dealt with many other issues.

Full frame machine prediction
Teacher imitationNot calibrated prevalence, not ground truth. Human validation pending. The Gemma side is a direct model label for every work in the frame, read from the title-only record. The Codex side is a classifier learned from the 10,348 direct Codex labels and calibrated to design-weighted sample rates; fields without enough sample support carry no Codex call. Candidate is the union of the two sides; consensus is their intersection. These outputs are machine_predicted_unvalidated and are not human labels.

Machine scores (provisional)
The two teacher heads of the student model, read on this work. A score orders the frame for review; it never asserts a category, and the validation status ships verbatim with every row.
Baseline scores from an immature model (maturity gate not passed, 7 training rounds). Scores rank; they never assert a category.
score_only:v0-immature-baseline · verbatim from the scoring run: score_only means the number may rank works, and no category label ships from itClassification
machine, unvalidatedMachine predicted; a candidate call from one source (direct Gemma or distilled Codex), not a consensus.
