espanolMeta, revista internacional fundada hace mas de cincuenta anos y editada por Les Presses de l�Universite de Montreal, se internacionalizo rapidamente bajo la direccion de Andre Clas. Con Sylvie Vandaele al frente desde 2009, Meta prosigue su mision de difundir articulos originales sobre traduccion e interpretacion, incluidas las perspectivas terminologica y linguistica. Fue una de las primeras revistas en publicar articulos sobre traduccion especializada, con un texto pionero sobre traduccion farmaceutica que se remonta a 1967 y dos numeros monograficos dedicados a la traduccion medica que datan de 1974 y 2001, ademas de numerosos articulos sueltos publicados a lo largo de su historia. ?Como se presenta el futuro? Formulamos la hipotesis de que el acceso a numerosos textos antes reservados a los investigadores y los profesionales sanitarios, unido al creciente interes por la traduccion especializada, propiciara un auge de la investigacion en este campo, y Meta estara ahi para dar fiel testimonio de ello. EnglishMeta, an international journal launched more than 50 years ago and published by the �Presses de l�Universite de Montreal�, took on an international character quite rapidly under the direction of Andre Clas. With Sylvie Vandaele at the helm since 2009, Meta pursues its mission of disseminating original articles about translation and interpretation, including aspects bearing on terminology and linguistics. It was one of the first journals to publish articles about specialized translation with a pioneer text about pharmaceutical translation dating back to 1967 and two monographs on medical translation from 1974 and 2001, in addition to a number of separate articles published throughout its existence. What does the future hold in store? We hypothesize that access to many texts that were formerly available only to researchers and to health professionals, together with a growing interest in specialized translation, will trigger a surge in research in this area, and Meta will be there to faithfully record it.Key words:
