Abstract

fetched live from OpenAlex

In the social sciences, researchers make extensive use of the interview method to explore and better understand the human experience. This submission discusses the case of the research interview to access the lived experience, which is an interesting methodological option for researchers wishing to examine the “lived” rather than the “represented” realm. The lived experience could be defined as what is effectively lived, made, and felt by an individual at a particular point of his or her relationship to the world, even though this individual is not necessarily aware of the experience while it occurs. The lived experience thus differs from the representation of a lived experience corresponding to the conceptualization of the experiences accumulated by a person throughout his or her life. The submission, in this context, further defines the concept of “lived experience” and explores a set of interviews aiming to provide access to the lived realm. It also presents an overview of two interviews before describing the “explicitation interview method”. This method aims to bring to light what the individual actually does when he or she is performing an act, and/or bring to light what the individual is actually experiencing during the lived experience, relying solely on mnesic support. The submission discusses the process of guiding the participant, provides excerpts of interviews, and outlines some precautions that should be taken when using this type of interview.

Machine scores (provisional)

The two teacher heads of the student model, read on this work. A score orders the frame for review; it never asserts a category, and the validation status ships verbatim with every row.

Baseline scores from an immature model (maturity gate not passed, 7 training rounds). Scores rank; they never assert a category.
