Abstract
En 2001, le Conseil de recherches en sciences humaines, le Conseil de recherches en sciences naturelles et en génie et les Instituts de recherche en santé confiaient au Groupe consultatif interagences en éthique de la recherche la révision de l’Énoncé de politique des trois conseils: éthique de la recherche avec des êtres humains. Cet article présente la philosophie et l’approche du Groupe pour répondre à la promesse que l’Énoncé est un document « vivant et évolutif». Le Groupe a fait appel à la communauté d’utilisateurs de l’Énoncé tout au long de son processus délibératif et consultatif, bénéficiant des commentaires et des suggestions de chercheurs, d’étudiants, de membres des comités d’éthique de la recherche, de participants à la recherche, du public et d’autres intervenants. Cette approche visait une meilleure compréhension des enjeux et des défis rencontrés par les utilisateurs de l’Énoncé afin que sa version revisée reflète l’état actuel de l’éthique de la recherche avec des êtres humains, et promeuve une conduite éthique dans la mise en œuvre de la recherche.
