Abstract
Patients with systemic sclerosis (SSc) frequently develop interstitial lung disease (ILD), which has a major impact on both management and prognosis.The management of SSc-ILD has evolved over the last decade, with evidence accumulating in support of various immunomodulatory and antifibrotic medications.This new evidence has led to increasing complexity in the management of SSc-ILD, which was the impetus for a clinical practice guideline (CPG) that was recently published in the American Journal of Respiratory and Critical Care Medicine (AJRCCM) (1).This CPG addresses eight questions pertaining to the management of patients with SSc-ILD.The committee makes a strong recommendation to treat patients with mycophenolate and conditional recommendations to treat patients with cyclophosphamide, rituximab, tocilizumab, nintedanib, or nintedanib plus mycophenolate.The committee further recommended research on the effects of pirfenidone and pirfenidone plus mycophenolate.All the recommendations
