Abstract
Cette recherche porte initialement sur huit Grecs d’Istanbul vivant aujourd’hui à Athènes, traducteurs de littérature turque et médiateurs culturels entre les sociétés grecque et turque. Parmi eux, Iraklis/Herkül Millas, Niki Stavridi, Io Tsokona et Stella Vretou ont publié entre 2013 et 2019 des livres de mémoire en partie autobiographiques, « traduisant » la mémoire de leur communauté au xxe siècle. Ces œuvres diffèrent dans leur forme littéraire, mais partagent un positionnement significatif à l’égard des récits/représentations. Si l’oppression subie en tant que minorité et la souffrance de l’exil sont présentes, les récits dominants nationalistes οu conservateurs du répertoire grec sur les identités et la coexistence passée sont évités dans tous les ouvrages, aspect visible notamment dans les représentations du « Turc ». Une forme d’agentivité du traducteur pourrait être à l’œuvre dans la recherche d’une voix narrative qui préserve la dignité du Soi comme celle de l’Autre.
