La retraduction collective à des fins pédagogiques : le jeu des créativités individuelles

Abstract
Le présent article propose une réflexion sur la mise à profit de la retraduction à plusieurs à des fins pédagogiques. J’y présenterai les conditions propices à la créativité au sein des groupes (dans une perspective psychosociologique), le rôle qu’elle joue dans le contexte de la traduction, les objectifs des projets de traduction collaborative à portée pédagogique, puis une expérience de retraduction collaborative menée durant un cours de traduction littéraire. À cette occasion, deux groupes d’étudiantes ont retraduit la fin de The Tale of Peter Rabbit de Beatrix Potter (à partir de la traduction de Victorine Ballon et de Julienne Profichet) et trois groupes ont retraduit le début de la nouvelle Clay de James Joyce (à partir des traductions d’Yva Fernandez (1926), de Jacques Aubert (1974) et de Benoît Tadié (1994)). Le ressenti des 22 participantes (décrit dans un questionnaire) sera examiné dans la perspective de la créativité, de l’acquisition de compétences traductives et transversales et du renforcement de la confiance en soi.
