RESUMENObjetivo: Describir y caracterizar los artículos científicos que abordan la ética de la investigación en la base de datos Web of Science (WoS).Diseño/Metodología/Enfoque: Se aplicó la metodología del análisis bibliométrico, se realizó una búsqueda en WoS con los descriptores “research ethics”. Después de aplicar criterios de inclusión y exclusión quedaron para el análisis bibliometrico 2303 artículos. Para el análisis se utilizó Biblioshiny by Blbiometrix, SciMat, VOSviewer. Se analizó la producción anual, revistas, principales autores, países, principales artículos y palabras clave. También se estableció un mapeo científico sobre las palabras clave y áreas temáticas desarrolladas. Resultados/Discusión: Los hallazgos de este análisis muestran que en los últimos años ha incrementado la producción intelectual sobre ética de la investigación, siendo este un tema de mayor interés para el mundo anglosajón, pues es Estados Unidos el país más productivo y la gran mayoría de los artículos son escritos en inglés. El autor más citado es Hyder, la revista que más publica es JOURNAL OF MEDICAL ETHICS y la institución que más aborda el tema es la Universidad de Toronto.Conclusiones: El mapeo temático pone de manifiesto una evolución importante proveniente de las ciencias de la salud y se denota una institucionalización de la ética con la aparición del comité ético científico en los temas de más interés. Originalidad/Valor: Este estudio representa un aporte importante para la toma de decisiones de los investigadores y a su vez les permite tener una perspectiva global y orientadora de la ética en la investigación.
