Abstract
PÉDAGOGIE COLLÉGIALE 27Chose surprenante, le devis ministériel du programme ne prescrit l'enseignement d'aucune compétence en chimie.Autrement dit, même si tous les programmes d'inhalothérapie du Québec comportent un ou deux cours de chimie, il n'y a aucune forme d'intégration véritable de la chimie à la formation en inhalothérapie.Au Collège de Rosemont, le comité de programme d'inhalothérapie a initialement résolu cette difficulté en rattachant les cours de chimie à la compétence 002G du devis ministériel.Cette compétence s'énonce ainsi : « Associer la préparation des médicaments à des situations cliniques d'inhalothérapie et d'anesthésie ».La chimie se trouve ainsi reliée à cette compétence en vertu de ces trois mots magiques « préparation des médicaments », ce qui se réduit en pratique à quelques règles élémentaires de dilution.Tout ceci est bien peu si l'on considère qu'il s'agit d'une discipline scientifique essentielle à la pratique de cette profession, comme je vais le montrer à l'instant.La chimie, à titre de discipline contributive dans le programme d'inhalothérapie, se trouve donc dans cette situation insolite : elle correspond à 150 heures de formation sans qu'aucune compétence propre à cette discipline soit acquise en fin de parcours.En somme, la chimie ne fait que contribuer, parmi d'autres disciplines, à l'atteinte d'une compétence très englobante et par la suite très difficile à administrer.La figure 1 illustre la séquence de cours qui mène à l'atteinte de ladite compétence.
